Welcome back to orbit
You're now here with us
We're right here with you
See we're just floating amongst the space dust
The gaps between the wind
There's no need to look far ahead
As you circle back around just trust
And let the moment get you stuck
See as you're stepping and striding
Your footsteps have a way
Of painting the canvas that you walk on
Though the fog of war is real
Just know that zeal reveals
So move forward and trust your gut as layers peel
Time will glue it all together
As the pieces become whole and meaning will soon glow
One day it'll all make sense
But 'til then take it step by step

Safekeeping
04:03
|
|

Southside we held down that fire
If I said we didn't I'd be lying
Oh at the same time I was crying
Paint on my canvas again
There was a sound like chimes
Coming from the bedroom in the morning
Tangled up in twin beds like a warning
Not to get too close to anything
Aching for safekeeping
Summer never ends when you're working freelance
And living in the city
Answering to nobody
But the face on the screen
All that money that you spent last night
And the reason that your wallet's empty
Looking for some innocent company
Out on Mission and 16th
Aching for safekeeping
Early riser needing a pick me up
Beating fatigue in some fisticuffs
Traded everything I know for a bit of luck riding the wave that was in my gut
No more back in the day now I’m packed in this train Thinking bout how to advance in this game so rapidly paced
Move too slow fall flat on your face
It's like we move with this impetus since removed from the womb when we're innocent
Pray to this muse feeling dazed and confused stay your lane and obey all the rules
Wide eyes to the world but some say that it's cruel and your oyster I guess it just depends on the school of thought
I'm caught in the middle
Stumped by this riddle big picture I'm stuck with some scribbles
Life is something so brittle ego was big but it shrunk just a little
Kicking up the dust I would settle in call it resurgence or genesis, some a kind of betterment
I digress Embarcadero jet on this divine quest
On this flight west it's the gold rush feeling so rushed trying to strike next
Fast paced living, feel like some soul is the last thang missing
Move along you can't stay wishing this train is leaving we're passing Mission
Now everyday just feels like same seasons work from morn 'til the late evening
Play the game seeking some safekeeping
Aching
Southside we held down that fire
If I said we didn't I'd be lying
Oh at the same time I was crying
Paint on my canvas again
There was a sound like chimes
Coming from my bedroom in the morning
Tangled up in twin beds like a warning
Not to get too close to anything
Aching for safekeeping

Just Waiting
06:07
|
|
||
Just waiting for the sun to fall
They said it would be better then
Feel out of time can't bet again
I don't wanna go
Feel it deep within my bones
But they said to hit the road
Just waiting for the sun to rise
I think I lost my appetite
But they said I'll be alright
But they said I'll be alright
But they said I'll be alright
But I don’t think this feeling's right
We had it, you fought it
I swore we'd get through it
I thought you would push us through this
We had it, you fought it
I swore we'd get through it
And anyone could see through this
Still waiting for the sun to fall
She promised we would meet again
I'm stuck here with this bleeding pen
I don't wanna go
Feel like I have no control
The thought of you is overgrown
Still waiting for the sun to rise
No sleep and losing track of time
But they said I'll be alright
But they said I'll be alright
But they said I'll be alright
But I don't think it's feeling right
We had it, you fought it
I swore we'd get through it
I thought you would push us through this
We had it, you fought it
I swore we'd get through it
And anyone could see through this
Just waiting for the tides to slow
Still gripping feeling no control
So I'll walk the open road
Still waiting, still waiting
But I want to fly from here
Feels like years my dear
And I'm looking towards the light
Feel the grips of paradise
With this time that's passing by
With this time that's passing by
With this time that's passing by
I think it's time to say goodbye

Differently

Make me wanna feel differently
Make me wanna feel different things
Make me wanna feel something inside
I find myself staring at the rhythm of the clock
Mentally block my soul in a prison with a lock
But the ticking on my watch's just a figment of my thoughts
Cuz come to think about it we're just spinning on this rock
Right around a sun that weighs like 90 thousand tons
And compared to distant planets man my time has just begun
I’ve been thinking that it's infinite, my mind is often numb
Cuz if you're waiting for tomorrow man tomorrow never comes
There's more wisdom in big dippers than six figures
You can't substitute soul kick out the pinch hitters
Information used to travel out for six winters
Now everybody and their mothers could just hit Twitter
We've collectively challenged our humble status
As animals and savages to modern man with cameras
'Til we meet drinking from the chalice at the palace
Let this music be your guide to the stars so don't panic
[Chorus]
Sometimes you just wanna get away, don't think that you can stay in today
Feel like it's more than just a calling a craving, let's hop on this spaceship
Shoot to the stars, it looms in your heart
You know who you are
At times I'm sitting looking for some inspiration
With little patience as I'm flipping pages through my notebook
It's like I take my own rook inside this simple game and
My mind is playing in a different language
An old crook is stealing my only chance for change
It's this music that gets me high, but at times I fly a damaged plane
And we can't escape the way we're prone to skip to basics
Cuz they just want our cash and change like poker chips in Vegas
Sometimes we need a hiatus to fade back in our placement
Away from the cliches we stay in day-to-day
Just move free, embellish life with light like what the moon brings
It's just a reflection of what I see and what you see
And it's consuming me now, the beautiful sound moving around the tunes
And cruising through within the loops and samples
I'm just concerned with observing this truth and handle
This music's surface with purpose and numerous answers
[Chorus]
Make me
Feel something inside
Make me
We ain't got no time
You make me feel
Something inside
You make me feel
Inside

All Ways

It's all in your head, I tell myself
The world is aligned
It's not every day, you know
Fortune is blind
You are always
Staring back at me
You don't know yet
It's just the thoughts I've seen
For now I'm alone, and no one else
Will feel the same
There's danger in thinking it
You're so far away
But you're still here
Your presence holding me
I'm awake now
But you're still shaking me
Shaping me
Someday we'll find us
I will be the answer, but I don't know when

Too Much Space
06:54
|
|
||
Retreating into what we see
Cosmic lines of parallel people
And I see eyes staring back into mine
Piercing through millions of years of light
Do I see you or do you see me?
Blacking into painted skies
A misted grayscale creates a dark veil
Punctured by scattered points of light
Points of light
Close up your eyes, imagine this fragile oasis
Zoomed out to macro equations
No longer surrounded by ground
Removing the bound found in gravity's braces
...Feel like I'm gathering patience
Sitting on top of that silver lining, no longer trapped in the matrix
Above the complexities lookin like everything's basic
Borderless paradise seeing no faces
Everything's small what are we chasing
I see no gold chains on Atlas
As the world spins on axis that old saying that's practiced
That money makes the world go seems tactless
These facts flip when we zoom out from our brick house past the atmos to the blackness
Feelin my mind shift with this time split
Uncovering layers just when I thought there was nothing to savor
Had to think but convinced ever since there's something that's greater
Up in the vapors seeing the signs everywhere published in nature
Who's looking at who, don't know
I'm looking at you
This is too much space

Baby, lately, when you come around
Maybe, lately, I've been feeling down
Cause when you knew me, we were younger
I was at your fingertips
You'd say trust me, and I'd let you in
But you flipped the switch
And you don't know me
And you don't hold me
Like you used to
And you don't know me
And you don't hold me
Anymore
Cause when you loved me baby yeah
I thought I'd found the one
But you don't need me baby yeah
And it's clear now that we're done
Let your words hurt
And my tears fall
Don't pretend to wipe them dry
And when it hurts less
I still won't call
And for now I don't care why
Crazy, saved me, from that empty town
Hazy, it gave me, an empty book of sounds
I don't remember who I was then
Defined myself by you
And so I made sure last goodbyes were
Never misconstrued
Now you don't know me
Now you don't hold me
Like you used to
Now you don't know me
Now you don't hold me
Anymore
Cause when you loved me baby yeah
I thought I'd found the one
But you don't need me baby yeah
And it's clear now that we're done
Let your words hurt
And my tears fall
Don't pretend to wipe them dry
And when it hurts less
I still won't call
And for now I don't care why

Wash Away
04:39
|
|
||
Blindly falling over trampled mosses grown
(You're running you're running)
Disputed adhesive of your own
(It won't stick)
Tripping on nonsense, stumbling on gold
You're a pure poet on autopilot
(With excess equipment)
Paralyzed by the headaches you get
Let it unwind
Fresh fears, like wet clay, your hands shape
They'll wash away
Flirting with muses giving me perfect excuses
Scribble little nothings outlining my hubris in chalk
As they laugh in amusement, hah
Mental is muted, feeling diluted
Gotta go fix up my blueprints
Feeling so far from the passion I felt when I was first stricken by Cupid
Painting this portrait with nothing but force before the energy forfeits
Pray there's enough of this flame on this torch to keep us in orbit
Head is spinning and spinning just thinking to finish
I sit on this brook, wishing for fish on this hook
Looking for food for thought, but got nothing to cook
Fresh fears, like wet clay, your hands shape
They'll wash away
